Shodex SUGAR Columns – Ligand Exchange Chromatography
The Shodex SUGAR series columns feature a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer base and a strong cation exchange resin with sulfo-groups and metal counter ions. These columns come in various types, offering different selectivity based on counter ion, pore size, and structure.
Ideal for saccharide separation and analysis in food science, biochemistry, and natural substance research, the series includes Asahipak GS-220 HQ for low molecular weight dietary fibers and OHpak SB-800 HQ for polysaccharides.
A key feature is the ligand exchange separation mechanism, where hydroxyl groups and metal ions interact to form complexes.
