LeanCat AirCell Air-Pressed Test Cell

LeanCat AirCell Air-Pressed Test Cell

What is the LeanCat AirCell?

The AirCell is single-cell compression hardware for testing low-temperature PEM fuel cells and electrolysers. Its pressurized-gas compression system delivers a fully controlled, uniformly distributed tightening force for repeatable, well-controlled conditions and high durability. It supports a range of active areas from 4.8 to 50 cm² and is compatible with H2, methanol and ethanol.

What operating conditions does the AirCell support?

Designed for flexible low-temperature testing:

  • Active area 4.8–50 cm² (multiple sizes)
  • Operation up to 80 °C and 6 bar
  • Monopolar plates in high-density graphite or titanium
  • Gold-coated copper current collectors
  • Anodized-aluminium base and upper plates
  • 2 cartridge heaters and 2 thermocouples included

Frequently asked questions

What cell sizes does the AirCell support?

Active areas from 4.8 to 50 cm², so one platform covers a range of MEA sizes.

What temperature and pressure can it run at?

Up to 80 °C and 6 bar — suited to low-temperature PEM fuel cells and electrolysers.

How is the cell compressed?

A pressurized-gas system applies a fully controlled, uniformly distributed tightening force rather than manual bolting.

What is included?

2 cartridge heaters and 2 thermocouples, with graphite/titanium monopolar plates, gold-coated copper current collectors and anodized-aluminium end plates.
